Cherry Lake (98 MW) receives final project approval
Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry grants final approval for the Cherry Lake (98 MW) project.
The 98 MW Cherry Lake photovoltaic plant, located in Mie Prefecture (Japan), received final approval on 24 June 2019, granted by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Transport and Industry (METI).
Construction of this solar plant began in September 2017, with MAETEL as the construction company. The plant was connected to the Chubu Electric grid in November 2018 and began COD in March 2019. Following commissioning, the plant has successfully supplied energy and has been monitored and inspected by METI to ensure that it met all the requirements established by the Japanese government.
METI had previously granted approval to the Sunrise (Takahagi) photovoltaic plant, with 11.5 MW, and the Hokota plant, with 21.5 MW.
